I am Erin Cox, the founder of Sweetie’s, and I am delighted to share my passion for skincare and sugaring with you. Skincare is not just a job, it’s a way of life. I have always been fascinated by the science behind beauty and have spent countless hours researching and experimenting with different techniques and products. Over time, I became particularly drawn to the art of sugaring, a more gentle form of hair removal that is kinder to the skin. It was this passion for sugaring that prompted me to open Sweetie’s in 2011. I wanted to create a space where women could feel welcome and comfortable, regardless of their skin type, hair texture or body shape. I believe that sugaring is a game-changer for many women who struggle with traditional waxing methods or who are simply looking for a more natural and gentle approach to hair removal. As one of the first sugaring professionals in the DFW metroplex, I was excited to introduce this innovative technique to a wider audience. It wasn’t long before Sweetie’s became a vibrant community of women who shared my love for sugaring and my commitment to providing the best possible client experience. Like many women, I was looking for a better alternative to shaving and waxing. I found it right here at Sweetie's, and I immediately fell in love with how much gentler sugaring was on my skin. At the time, I had no idea that one day I'd own the very business where my sugaring journey began. A few years later, my husband and I packed up our lives and moved to Cozumel, Mexico, where we spent nearly seven years building a completely different life. While there, I learned the art of sugaring and discovered that what had started as something I loved as a client could become a career. I fell in love with the balance of science, precision, and helping women feel more confident in their own skin. Life took another unexpected turn when the pandemic brought us back to Texas. I returned to Sweetie's—this time as a sugarist. In 2023, I had the incredible privilege of purchasing the business from its founder, Erin, bringing my story full circle. Along the way, life has taught me the value of resilience. Becoming a living kidney donor reinforced how meaningful it is to care for others, and it's a perspective I carry with me every day. Whether it's investing in continuing education, carefully choosing certified organic products, or simply taking the time to make someone feel comfortable, I believe the smallest details often make the biggest difference. Today, Sweetie's is more than my business. It's a place where women can relax, ask questions without judgment, laugh a little, and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.
